Introducing the celebrity cast of Dancing with the Stars 2024
Phaedra Parks
Pro Partner: Val Chmerkovskiy
Phaedra Parks is a lawyer and businesswoman who appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta for seven seasons from 2010 to 2017. After her meme-filled performance on The Traitors earlier this year, the Georgia native announced that she would be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for the upcoming 16th season in July.
“Everybody knows I’m sassy and classy and some of my friends are kind of vulgar, but if you come see this mirror ball, you’re gonna be nasty,” Parks jokingly told GMA.
Danny Amendola
Pro Partner: Witney Carson
Danny Amendola is a former NFL player who won two Super Bowl championships as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots. Amendola retired in 2022 after 13 seasons in the NFL. After retiring, he competed in the reality show “Special Forces: World’s Toughest” and coached the Las Vegas Raiders for one season.
In a “Dancing with the Stars” vibe, Amendola got up and performed a touchdown dance on “Good Morning America.” He skipped and slid across the floor, spiking a football that had fallen on the floor, and his co-stars cheered.
Amendola’s former Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski also sent him a video message of encouragement. “You can bring that playoff energy to the dance floor and you’ll definitely dominate,” Gronkowski said.
Joey Graziadei
Pro Partner: Jenna Johnson
Tennis coach Joey Graziadei first joined Bachelor Nation as the runner-up on Charity Lawson’s season of “The Bachelorette.” He then helmed “The Bachelor” season 28, which ended with him getting engaged to Kelsey Anderson.
Graziadei admitted that he feels pressure to live up to the success of former bachelors and bachelorettes who previously competed on the show, but told “GMA” that he’s focused on making it to the finals.
“That’s what we’re aiming for,” he said.
Ilona Maher
Pro Partner: Alan Bersten
Ilona Maher is a professional rugby player who helped the U.S. women’s rugby team win a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Maher is the digital cover star of the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and has used her platform to advocate for body positivity and bring attention to women in sports.
Maher called the Olympics her “life goal,” but said she’s gearing up for ballroom dancing.
“I know it’s going to be really hard and stressful,” she told “GMA.”
Chandler Kinney
Professional partner: Brandon Armstrong
Actress Chandler Kinney has played Willa in the Disney Channel original movie series “Dawn of the Dead” since “Dawn of the Dead 2” in 2020. Kinney also played Tabitha “Tabby” Howarth in “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” and “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School,” sequels to the popular “Pretty Little Liars” series.
Kinney, who revealed that she danced as a child, told “GMA” she was “nervous” and “excited,” and praised the talented cast and pros.
“I love the show because it demands showmanship and attention to detail,” she said. “Everyone who took the stage proved that they were fully capable of doing it.”
Anna Delvey
Professional Partner: Ezra Sosa
Anna “Delvey” Sorokin is a notorious so-called “fake heiress” whose financial crimes and lavish lifestyle inspired the Emmy-nominated Netflix show “Inventing Anna” and are detailed in the book “My Friend Anna: The True Story of a Fake Heiress.” In 2019, Delvey was convicted of eight charges, including grand larceny and theft of services. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison, fined $24,000, and ordered to pay approximately $200,000 in restitution. She was released in February 2021 for exemplary behavior.
When asked what she would like viewers to know about her, Delvey replied on “GMA” that “I’m good at the cha-cha.”
Eric Roberts
Professional Partner: Britt Stewart
Eric Roberts is an actor best known for his roles in “King of the Gypsys” (1978), “Star 80” (1983), and “Runaway Train” (1985), for which he received a Golden Globe nomination and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the latter. He is the brother of Academy Award-winning actress Julia Roberts and the father of actress Emma Roberts.
Roberts told “GMA” that playing the role was an experience that was “a mile and a half outside my comfort zone.” He also revealed that his family found out he was going to be appearing on “Dancing with the Stars” in real time.
Brooks Nader
Professional Partner: Gleb Savchenko
Brooks Nader is a model who has appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue multiple times since winning the Swim Search open casting call in 2019. In 2023, he appeared on the magazine’s cover in a “Baywatch”-inspired photoshoot with fellow cover models Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Martha Stewart.
Nader told “GMA” that although he had dance experience in high school, this would be a “new challenge,” adding that he was “really looking forward to it.”
Steven Nedorosic
Pro Partner: Riley Arnold
Announced as a contestant on “GMA” last month, Steven Nedorosic gained national fame after winning two bronze medals as a pommel horse specialist for the U.S. men’s gymnastics team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to USA Gymnastics, Nedorosic is a four-time U.S. pommel horse champion, tying the record for the most pommel horse wins in U.S. history.
Despite being used to high-risk competitions, Nedorosic said he was “very nervous.”
“The Olympics have been very stressful. It’s very difficult. But I’ve never danced, so I’m very nervous about what’s going to happen,” she told “GMA,” comparing the Olympic stage to a dance floor. “I think when I step on a ballroom floor, I know what’s going to happen.”
